Copper Lugs and Splices
Panduit’s copper lugs and splices for applications up to 35 kV
Panduit's copper lugs and splices feature flared barrel ends that permit easy insertion of flexible cables and virtually eliminate "turned back" wire strands. In addition, the color coded barrel design provides simple identification of the proper die size to eliminate selection of incorrect dies during assembly. A specially designed inspection hole assures proper cable length insertion, and the copper lug tongue contains a stamped part number and stud size for easy identification.
Panduit copper lugs and butt splices are manufactured from seamless copper tubing for high conductivity, and they contain an electro tin plated finish for increased corrosion resistance. They can be used for applications up to 35 kV with proper high voltage insulation techniques.
Panduit’s line of copper lugs and splices for flex cables are UL listed and CSA certified when installed using Panduit assembly tools. Panduit assembly equipment includes controlled-cycle hand-operated tools, controlled-cycle hydraulic hand tools, and a series of portable, battery-operated crimping tools.
Panduit copper lugs and butt splices for flexible and extra flexible cables are part of a full line of electrical and OEM products available through authorized Panduit distributors. PAN-LUG copper compression products have received full agency approvals from the most stringent safety test labs. PAN-LUG copper compression lugs and splices meet NEBS Level 3 requirements as tested by Telcordia Technologies. NEBS Level 3 assures product performance is suitable for equipment applications that demand minimal service interruptions over the life span of the equipment. PAN-LUG power connectors meet and surpass the requirements of UL and CSA.
Numerous product additions make the PAN-LUG power and grounding connector line one of the most comprehensive in the industry. The innovative PAN-LUG Copper HTAP and Clear Cover System with slotted design reduces installation time and contributes to enhanced wire pullout performance; the snap-on clear cover allows 360° inspections of the crimped connection to assure the crimp is complete and the correct die was used.
